Le Pommier Wine Estate: Oude Libertas Season Concerts
You are invited to join again the summer audiences who relish the
delights of a unique season of top entertainment under the stars in the
Stellenbosch original theatre in the Cape Winelands.
Music, theatre and dance once again find a perfect setting under
Stellenbosch’s southern sky. Set among tall, rustling trees, the famous
open-air Oude Libertas Amphitheatre this year hosts a top line-up of
performers in a variety of presentations.
Situated on the slopes of the Papegaaiberg, the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre overlooks the magnificent Stellenbosch mountain range. The Amphitheatre stages a variety of quality productions across a wide spectrum of genres. Come and experience some of the best South African and international productions during the summer seasons. Once you are in the theatre you’ll be swept away by the ambience and tranquillity and realise why the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre is rated as one of the most beautiful open-air theatres in South Africa, if not the world.

Le Pommier Wine Estate: Supporting fellow wine farms - Spier Harvest Festival

Come and join the celebration to bless the grape harvest at the annual Spier Wine Harvest Festival, in Stellenbosch.
The lawns in front of Eight—Spier’s new ‘farm-to-table’ restaurant—will be transformed into a wine wonderland. Adults can lounge under the trees and enjoy great food and wine, while children join in a host of interactive games.
With so much to do during the day you will find lots of things to have fun, with wine tastings and scrumptious specialty food stalls to create the ultimate wine picnic. This can be enjoyed either on the lawn, or around the harvest table alongside the Eerste River.
Games for all include grape stomping, croquet, and boulle. For kids there will be T-shirt and face painting, and loads of entertainment, including tractor rides to the vineyards, storytelling, magicians, an obstacle course and more.
Gerald Clarke and his band will entertain with guitars, cellos, accordions and singers.
Tickets: R70, for adults, this includes a tasting of two of Spier’s award-winning wines and a special edition wine glass. For kids this includes entrance for five games. Times: 10h00 to 16h00

Its that time of year again to celebrate at
the Delheim Start of Harvest Festival. Headlining once again is the
famous grape stomp, where teams will clash in pursuit of producing the
most juice.
Enjoy the daily programme of a guided vineyard tour, a cellar tour - giving a rare glimpse into a working wine cellar in the midst of harvest. You will be entertained by a jazz band during the cellar tour. Bring your kids for a family day out as they can join in the fun at the kiddies grape stomp. More fun activities to join in are barrel-rolling, grape-grabbing, chaotic stomping sequence with onlookers shouting out ‘helpful’ hints. Prizes will be awarded for the most juice stomped, with spot prizes allocated according to quirky themes. ‘Guess the cultivar’ grape tastings will take place throughout the day, and prizes will be awarded for the nearest guess.
Tickets will be restricted to the first 100 bookings. Paninis will be available for purchase on the day, or pre-book one of Delheim’s delicious picnics - there is something for everyone!

Stellenbosch Wine Festival
The Stellenbosch Wine Festival, the flagship event of South Africa’s
iconic wine region, stomps its way into a new era this January with an
expanded ten-day program designed to showcase in a bigger, better and
bolder fashion the delightfully diverse town of Stellenbosch from 25
January until 3 February 2013.
It all culminates at a three-day Wine Expo which will be located in the
heart of the vibrant town and feature interactive stands and tasting
programmes from over 130 wine and gourmet food producers. The Wine Expo is set to take place from 1 to 3 February on Die Braak

A Winelands Hike for the whole family
Enjoy the sunset over Table Mountain with stunning views of the
Winelands and a picnic under the full moon rising over Klapmutskop. 28 Dec 2012.
This 9.75km marked circle route through the vineyards starts at the
Trail Centre on Delvera Farm. The route offers the unique experience of
hiking through the Renosterveld Conservancy and Yellowwood forest to
the top of Klapmutskop.
It can take up to 1.5 hours to reach the top so best be there no
later than 18h00, to ensure you don’t miss out on the complete
experience.
